ACCEPTING BOOKINGS BETWEEN EASTER AND SEPTEMBER. But do enquire at other times too as the owners may accept bookings off-peak depending on the river conditions.

There is a very simple pricing structure, £65 per person per night. There is no supplement for single occupancy and no ‘high' season; the cost is the same whatever time you stay.

The owners, Joyce and Dave, live aboard Art Deco all year round, cruising the River Thames from the dreaming spires of Oxford down to Kingston on Thames, home to Hampton Court, some 90 miles away. Along the river Art Deco barge will pass historic towns, idyllic villages, open parkland and Royal residences. Viewed from the river the scenery is splendid, from steep hillsides thickly wooded with oak and beech, to smart riverside houses and elegant bridges, the River Thames has it all. On the journey negotiate picturesque locks, all tended by friendly lock keepers, enhancing the leisurely atmosphere much envied by those who's lives seem to perpetually quicken year on year. There will be time to ‘stand and stare', stroll through fine market towns or visit celebrated castles, monuments and places where English history was made.

Join Art Deco for a short break, 5 nights maximum stay.

Have the comfort of a private cabin with a full-size double bed and en-suite wet room. There is a large saloon with leather settees and 240-volt electricity throughout. Everything is provided for your stay, from bed linen to towels, all that is needed is a small bag with casual clothes and sensible shoes to enjoy a relaxing cruise. Each stay will be tailored to suit individual guests; with a maximum of two guests at any one time, thus allowing the owners of Art Deco, to offer a truly bespoke service. The cost includes; bed, breakfast, lunch, 3-course evening dinner and river cruising. Tea, coffee, soft drinks and light snacks are always available at no extra cost. Alcoholic drinks are permitted to bring aboard. There is always chance to have a bottle of wine on board!

Art Deco is not based in any one place. Confirmation of pickup point and itinerary plan depending on the length of stay, either returning to the point of origin or alternatively cruising one way, for a return journey by train will be provided by the owners.

Cruising through Surrey, Greater London, Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire.

Thank you Dave and Joyce, we had an amazing and relaxing couple of days aboard the lovely Artdeco.

Dave and Joyce were the perfect hosts, we felt so relaxed in their company as soon as we met them, and they looked after us so well. Special mention to Joyce's incredible culinary skills, our meals were fantastic. Our accommodation was really comfortable, and we couldn't have asked for more. Hope to be back!

Keith&Margaret Skeggs returned again this year to cruise Art Deco, Oxford to Sonning, returning to Reading for our train home.
Most enjoyable 5 day cruise. Glorious weather, lovely cuisine and wonderful company of Dave and Joyce.
Considering our options for our 3rd visit, possibly this year. Cruised 3/7/2017 to 7/7/2017.

Last week we spent 4 nights onboard the Art Deco with Dave & Joyce travelling from Reading to Windsor. Experiencing life on a barge was brilliant & Dave & Joyce could not have done more to make the holiday truly memorable. We certainly hope to return in 2018.

Although space was understandably limited, our on suite bedroom was more than comfortable. The wet room was super, the bed excellent and storage plentiful.
The lounge very comfortable; the food was just out of this world.
The hosts, David skipper, very friendly, knowledgeable and welcoming, whilst Joyce the deck had, was a wonderful chef and super warm home maker.
I after basic tuition acted as deckhand number 2 and enjoyed myself immensely.
We received a grand example of Yorkshire hospitality.

I took my partner for a birthday weekend to the Art Deco Barge. We had an amazing time. Dave & Joyce were the perfect hosts and nothing was too much trouble. Joyce is a fantastic cook and made so much delicious food.
We cruised for 2 days from Henley to Windsor and enjoyed helping out with the locks
The evenings were spent after dinner drinking and chatting with Dave and Joyce and it felt like they were old friends.
I couldn't fault anything and I would definitely recommend it to anyone wanting time out in the slow lane
A Trip To Remember!

The Art Dec Barge experience is just lovely. Dave and Joyce are amazing hosts and go above and beyond to make your stay on the Art Deco one to remember. We had a lovely 3 day cruise along the Thames from Reading to Staines. Experiencing the UK from the Thames is a unique experience. The locks and history alone are worth the adventure. Dave and Joyce were great at recommending stops along the way like Clivedown House, Runnymede and lovely mooring locations for lunch. We also spent a night in Windsor with the castle lit-up on top of the hill, which was just gorgeous. The trip was relaxing & beautiful, yet full of new things to see.

Dave is a wonderful driver and even let us help with the locks, which my husband loved. Joyce is the hostess with the mostest. She should be cooking in a 5 star restaurant. Her meals from breakfast to lunch were delicious and made from scratch. Her empanadas are WOW. My husband was quite sad to leave her cooking.

We highly recommend staying on the Art Deco Barge! It's a trip you will remember for a long time to come. We hope to enjoy it again one day!

Best,
Rachel & Jared
Watch the world go by ....

I organised the weekend on Art Deco Barge with Joyce and Dave as a birthday surprise for my husband.

The experience exceeded our expectations. Joyce and Dave are a wonderful couple with kind hearts, they looked after us the whole weekend, so we could sit back and chill.

The food that Joyce made was better than the restaurants and the cakes were amazing!

My husband and I both enjoyed sitting on the front of the barge and soaked up the scenery and literally just watch the world go by. The experience gives you a wonderful opportunity to pause, reconnect and recharge.

What a way to start December. With a night aboard Art Deco on the River Thames. Moored at Staines, we were met by Dave & Joyce, two of the nicest people I have met. Nothing was too much trouble for them and they went out of their way to make us feel welcome aboard what is actually their home! We had a short cruise up to Windsor and went exploring to see the Magna Carta and RAF Memorial. We had an amazing one night stay and wished we could have stayed longer. I cannot recommend this enough if you want an 'out of the ordinary' night away :)
A perfect 10th anniversary break.

It might have only been a short break but for Becky and I (particularly the I part), it was a brilliant three days aboard the Artdecobarge with Joyce and Dave. Our short holiday was to celebrate our tenth wedding anniversary and to have a little rest before our very busy work schedules until the end of January. We had an amazing time cruising along the stretch of the Thames between Reading and Staines. The autumn colours of the trees, the wildlife, the great meals courtesy of Joyce and the wealth of boat advice from Dave made this, our first boating trip, an unforgettable experience. We would thoroughly recommend this trip to anyone who wants to experience the river pace of life but is worried about handling a boat. Thanks very much indeed to Joyce and Dave for a wonderful time.
Unwinding

We'd had a hectic few weeks with one thing and another and I knew that we'd need a couple of days to get back on track. We managed to ditch the kids for a couple of days and hopped on a train (my wife had no idea where we were going - birthday treat). The affable Dave came to meet us in Marlow, and brought us aboard the lovely Art Deco barge, where we were greeted by the lovely & culinary gifted Joyce, who had just put together a wonderful spread for our lunch. This just set the scene for the next couple of days, as we meandered through locks, saw birds galore (kites & kingfishers were particular highlights), and ate & drank extremely well. The pace of the barge on the river is just perfect when all you want to do is relax. The rural scenery is splendid and the Oxfordshire/Berkshire villages are picturesque. We're definitely going to look at barge cruises again, and I can't recommend this one in particular enough!Thank you Dave & Joyce, and if a prospective boat hand is looking at this, hesitate no more...

My wife treated me to 3 days on this lovely barge for our anniversary.
We agreed a meeting point on the Thames. Dave & Joyce welcomed us to their floating home. We enjoyed our stay and have recommended it to friends. It's a lovely way to chill and relax watching the wildlife, views, buildings and other people enjoying the Thames. Our room was comfortable with all mod cons includingv, a comfortable double bed, 240 power supply, TV, an en-suite wet room, central heating and delicious fresh home cooked food. We started at Windsor and had pub visits and overnight stops in Marlowe and Henley from where we got the train home.
Thanks for a very enjoyable, restful weekend.

Go With The Flow

Watching the world go by is one of life's great pleasures but when you are watching an often unseen world from the unique viewpoint of a luxury floating home that really is special.
We joined Dave and Joyce in August and cruised from Windsor to Reading spending five nights aboard. The whole experience was just wonderful.
Art Deco is not a business venture where every last ounce of everything is costed by some nameless accountant and 'guests' are just statistics. Dave and Joyce will make you feel at home and give you an opportunity to see many faces of Old Father Thames that are normally out of sight accept to the lucky few so go with the flow and enjoy the ride.

We have just returned from a two night break on the Art Deco to celebrate my husband's 70th birthday. From the moment Dave met us from Oxford station nothing was too much trouble. Their hospitality was warm and welcoming and on Peter's birthday Joyce cooked a special meal for him. The food was excellent, all home cooked and plenty of it. The whole trip was relaxing, comfortable and my husband was delighted. We can't recommend this adventure enough and one we hope to repeat. Thank you Dave and Joyce.
A VERY RELAXING BREAK INDEED

on June 23, 2016
If you're looking for a totally relaxing holiday break, with no worries and nothing to stress about, this may be the one for you.
'Art Deco' is a very comfortable boat, equipped to a high standard and with all modern conveniences - flush toilet, 240v electricity, modern shower, super-comfy fullsize double bed, even central heating. Joyce is an expert chef and she & Dave a lovely couple.
With pleasant scenery and lots of wildlife, interesting towns & villages, and an itinerary tailored to your specific interests there is no need to do anything you don't want to.
In fact, this is more like taking a trip with two old friends than a paid-for holiday. Warmly recommended.

Just finished nine nights on the art deco starting in Oxford and ending at Hampton Court. It was the ultimate in relaxing holidays and Joyce and David couldn’t have done more for us. The food was great and it was wonderful to just float down the Thames stopping off at interesting places. We were surprised by the peace and tranquillity with miles of just country.

Joyce and Dave

Thank you for a very memorable weekend on Art Deco.

It couldn't have been more perfect. From pottering down to the vibrant Henley for an amazing dinner and hospitality, to waking up to a fresh new day, beginning with breakfast on the river and followed by great views, lots of local knowledge as we watched the world go by and interspersed with hours of relaxation and calm is was a perfect way to unwind.

If we had thought that going away for a weekend to a Hotel was a good idea, our decision to take a mini break on a floating Hotel was so much better.

And value for money you win hands down.

We wish you, not only successful in your endeavours but hope that this year is the beginning of something very special.

Just brilliant.

Kind regards,

Juliet and Steve

A weekend aboard Artdecobarge is so relaxing. I love the water and the peaceful surroundings, no speeding cars making travel stressful. The facilities are exactly as advertised. Comfortable, cosy and warm. The inside decor is very tasteful and easy on the eye. Being up topside whilst cruising the river is so interesting. The beautiful well maintained and decorated locks add interest to the journey. Our meals were delicious, thanks to the chef Joyce. David handles the boat smoothly and professionally. Looking forward to a second visit in 2016. Thank you both for a fabulous weekend.
