Gypsy Rose is a traditional bow-top Romany wagon for 2. She is tucked away in an apple orchard, overlooking a waterfall in Blakeney, Gloucestershire.
The wagon is located in a private and peaceful area within the Forest of Dean. It is the ideal destination for dog owners and walkers and the nearby Severn Vale and estuary of the River Severn is a haven for wildlife and migrating birds.
Gypsy Rose allows you to enjoy an authentic gypsy experience with a modern twist. You get a comfy bed in a warm wagon, a flushing loo, generous food hamper of delicious local produce and everything you need to light a fire or BBQ, open a bottle and snuggle down for a night nearer to nature.
No power-shower, microwave cookers or cosy wee huts here - this is authentic outdoor living. If The Apple Store cottage is available you are welcome to use the bath, shower and kitchen facilities for an additional fee. Otherwise, you can heat water for washing on an Edwardian washstand in the Nut Hut, where there is a mains connected lavatory.
Fluffy towels, hooded bathrobes and luxury toiletries are provided. No electricity - Gypsy Rose has an original Queenie stove, but you will find it's only needed during the coldest winter months. Cooking is over an open fire, but a BBQ and camping gas stove have been provided, just in case.
Lighting comes from paraffin lanterns, solar lights and torches. Not suitable for young children due to open water and open fires. No pets.
However for groups with children and pets, book The Apple Orchard - a self-contained ground floor apartment, part of the owner's home - and Gypsy Rose which together can accommodate 6 plus a cot and 1 dog stays free. Enquire for more details.
Meals can be provided for a fee. The local pub, shops and food outlets can be reached in 5-minute walk on foot.
Gypsy Rose is priced at £90 per night, 2 nights at £170 - based on two sharing.
