Harvest Moon Holidays are set near the East Coast of Scotland, near Edinburgh, and offer spacious and comfortable new Treehouses that can accommodate up to 7 guests, as well as Luxury Safari Tents for up to 8 people. There is plenty to do for all the family.
It is situated 28 miles from Edinburgh and 30 miles from Berwick upon Tweed, both of which are approximately a 40 minute drive away. Only 7 miles way is Dunbar and North Berwick which are both a 10 minute drive away. Edinburgh, Dunbar and Berwick upon Tweed are all on the East Coast Rail mainline.
The area is filled with footpaths, trails, beaches, dunes and bridleways for endless healthy activities to keep the group occupied. For when the weather is not very pleasant and you would rather stay indoors, examples of activities are: Soft Play, trampolines, bouncy castle, Hay Play Barn, Climbing Walls, Ball Blast Arena, Small animal shed, Picnic Barn indoors, Small animal handling, Cafe with baby facilities and visiting a gift shop. While outdoor activities can be pedal tractors, trampolines, Jelly Belly, all weather sledging, sand filled pirate ship, Milk Can skittles, horseshoe pitching, Flying Fox, 2-acre Woodland maze, train Safari, looking round the farm animals, fishing, pony trekking and also, wakeboarding.
The spacious and comfortable Treehouses comprise of 2 double bedrooms (one with an extra single bunk above and an en suite WC and hot shower room), a beautiful octagonal living area fit with a “Belfast” sink, Italian log-burning stove, pretty pine dresser and all necessary pots, pans, cutlery, crockery and utensils, plus for an extra guests there is a yacht-style table which drops down to form a bed.
Outside is a deck raised 2 metres off the ground (with wooden steps for easy access). The height allows guests to really take advantage of the breath-taking views to the sea and the famous Bass Rock. Swings and a love seat are available bellow the deck, on the soft natural sandy ground.
Treehouses sleep 5 with 2 extra on a drop down bed in the living area (7 in total). There is no electricity but lanterns are provided for lighting at night, and ice bottles are provided for the cool box used to store food. A travel cot is available upon request.
Treehouses will be open early February until the end of October. Prices start from £570 for mid week stays off peak to £1140 for a 7 night break in the school holidays. Monday and Friday changeover days.
Harvest Moon offers 7 luxurious safari tents kitted out to the highest specification with an internal area of 4.5m x 9m and with additional en suite WC and hot showers. Each tent sleeps 6/8 people in 2 bedrooms and a cosy cupboard bed/ sofa bed. There is a kitchen area with a “Belfast” sink unit, pine dresser, wood stove with oven, plus all pots, pans, crockery and cutlery, the comfortable lounge/dining area opens out to a covered veranda for sitting out.
The Safari tents open in April until the end of October. Prices start at £495 for mid-week stays off peak to £960 for 7 night break in the peak of summer. Monday and Friday changeover days.
Prices include all bedding and all wood. Sorry, no “hen” or “stag” parties. No pets. You can bring your own horse for £12 per night (please book in advance to ensure availability of grazing field).
Optional extras include: Towel Package – £5 per pack. Children’s Furniture – Travel cot – £15, High Chair – £15 (or £20 for both cot + Highchair). Chicken coop – £10 per stay. Outdoor Campfire Cooking Pot – £15 per night.
