O Homem Verde is a small and exclusive low impact woodland tipi and yurt retreat in the mountains of central Portugal. The aim is to make your stay on this small, family-friendly organic smallholding as relaxing and trouble free as possible and offer a large yurt and traditional indian tipi for an exciting and unforgettable boutique camping experience.

The accommodation is self-catering and all cooking and kitchen utensils are provided, as is a fridge or alternatively take the bed and breakfast and vegetarian evening meal options.

At O Homem Verde you are surrounded by the sounds of wildlife and they do their best to help enhance the "jungle" experience with a quirky shower and eco-toilet facilities.There are some beautiful swimming spots at natural pools, river beaches and waterfalls all very close-by, and there are many cultural heritage sites within easy reach for a day-trip - including castles, cathedrals, caves, sanctuaries and Roman sites, as well as the charming old university city of Coimbra.

Popular activities in the area include hiking, mountain and road biking, swimming, kayaking, fishing and there are opportunities for both rockclimbing and birdwatching too. Or if you prefer to relax, holistic or Thai style massage and Reiki therapy with a qualified practitioner are offered for an even more calming and healing stay.

Romantic couples, adventuring families and small relaxing groups are all easily catered for, and all will be warmly welcome.

All bedding and bathtowels are included to help lighten your load, and recycling and composting are part of daily life at the retreat.

Open year round, accommodation prices start at 30 euros a day for 2 adults, plus up to 2 children.
