A perfect combination of camping in nature and the comfort of a hotel room, of enjoying the tranquil atmosphere of the southwest coast of the Alentejo along with the liveliness of the coastal towns.

At Portugal Nature Lodge you will experience peace and relaxation. The only sound is the trill of the birds, the tinkling of the cowbells in a pasture just a few yards away and the gentle rustle of the leaves in the cork oak trees.

From your own private terrace take advantage of the picturesque panorama unfolding over the undulating valley, and over the hills to the distant horizon as far as the mountains of the Monchique range. In this natural haven butterflies fly amidst the brightly coloured flowers, and with a little bit of luck you could even spot a special bird like the hoopoe or the African bee-eater.

Your ‘apartment’ is a special and spacious tent; an American Tipi, a Mongolian Yurt or a South African Safaritent. Beautifully furnished and supplied with a private bathroom as well as an outside cooking area, every tent also enjoys a spacious terrace for lounging and soaking up the magnificent views. There is a small raised pool to cool off in.

Here you will really feel at one with nature. Nights on the Alentejan Southwest coast are wonderfully bright and clear, which makes it cool and comfortable in your tent. In the yurt and the tipi you can simply lie back and gaze at the stars from the comfort of your bed.

Portugal Nature Lodge is situated by the southwest coast of Portugal, just north of the Algarve, between the coastal villages of Zambujeira do Mar and Vila Nova de Milfontes. As the crow flies it is located just 10 km from the beautifully clean, clear ocean. There is the opportunity to go surfing, horsetrekking, biking, walking, canoeing or simply relax. There may be 'baila' (a traditional Portugese dance night) organised in a local village during your stay.

The site is open from 1 April until 31 October with prices starting at €55 a night for 2 in low season.
