Guarding over the safe family beach at Archirondel, this tower provides an adventurous stay for up to 10 guests + dogs.
Archirondel Tower is a perfect short stay property for up to 10 guest. Ideal for those wishing to explore Jersey's eastern tip. It is close to St Catherine's woods, St Catherine's breakwater and the impressive Mont Orgueil Castle. Safe swimming, smooth pebbles for decorating sand castles, rocks to scramble on and smooth sands nearer the sea make Archirondel beach a popular place with families. The tower offers basic coastal accommodation which has recently been renovated.
The Tower is painted red and white so it can be used as a navigational point by vessels at sea. Rarely crowded, with an excellent cafe on the edge of the beach Archirondel is also a great place to launch a canoe or kayak because of the sheltered nature of the beach.
Archirondel Tower was built on a rocky outcrop in St Catherine's Bay in 1792 and was used as a garrison for artillery soldiers, it is now linked to the shore by the abandoned southern arm of St Catherine's breakwater. The tower is set over three levels; the table and benches, fridge and kettle are located on the 1st, exterior metal steps lead to the 2nd where there are 4 beds, the remaining three beds are accessed via the 2nd floor up a wooden ladder.
Archirondel Tower has limited facilities; there is no running water or toilet facility within the property, however, there is electricity and a beach café 100 yards away with 24-hour access to toilets and showers. Guests will need to bring their own sleeping bags. The tower has electricity and lighting, kettle and fridge.
Dogs welcome. No suitable for those with mobility issues as there are steep steps.
There is a 2 night minimum stay with prices from £9 per person per night. £174.30-£208.50 for a 2 night stay depending on the time of year. Open year round.
