Get close to nature in beautiful shepherds huts - or a tree tent - in the stunning Oxfordshire countryside at Chipping Warden.
A holiday with a difference! These Shepherd Huts are set in the rolling Oxfordshire countryside - perfect for the independent traveller who wants to get away from it all. Superb walking, birdwatching, horse riding (stables available), swimming in the river, cycling or just star watching and sitting by the camp fire.
These shepherd huts HAVEN'T got a colour TV, hairdryer, telephone or DVD player, but what they HAVE got is something that cannot be quantified. When you wake up in the morning, having had the most restful sleep on the ultra comfortable bed, all you can see is a rolling meadow, hear the song of birds, having heard nothing but owls hooting during the night. There are 4 huts each with its own quirkiness:
Stable Shepherd Hut - set in its own woods with a dog proof fence so you can relax and enjoy your break. It has a veranda with table & chairs, double bed & single bed in its own private room. A fire pit and/or a gas powered BBQ. Inside a George Foreman grill, fridge and kettle. A long drop compostable loo too.
River Shepherd Hut - situated on the banks of the River Cherwell. It has an outdoor veranda that overlooks the water, with steps leading into the water for an early morning swim! There is also a chiminea and a romantic double hammock. Inside there is solar lighting, gas hob and heater, a compost loo and solar powered shower.
Blackgrounds Farm Shepherd Hut - has a super king sized bed, a George Foreman grill, heating, fridge and full electricity. It is right next to a rarely used footpath with stunning views. There is a "proper" loo and shower just 20 yards away for private use.
Orchard Shepherd Hut - a secluded private hut with amazing views that sleeps 2 people.
There is also Beach Shepherds Hut for up to 3, River Shepherd Hut for 2 and a Tree Tent which sleeps 4. Plus a cottage which is set in a stable courtyard with a private, dog proof garden. This sleeps a total of 4 people with 2 double beds and ensuite.
Walk along the river to the local pub for a glass of wine. Enjoy a nightcap by the campfire before retiring to your comfortable bed. No neighbours, no noise, just peace and tranquillity. A chance to recharge your batteries and have that little bit of adventure that the soul craves for.
Prices range from £80 - £150 per night. £25 per person a night for the Tree Tent. £37.50 per person for the Cosy Cocoons - minimum stay 2 nights. Dogs welcome and charged at £10 extra per night. £10 surcharge for extra occupancy if it exceeds 2 people.
