Burrow & Bagend Hobbit Howfs

Braco, Dunblane, Perthshire and Kinross, Scotland

The Hobbit Howfs, each for 2 guests, are grass-topped homes nestled into the hillside near Dunblane, with outdoor and indoor cooking facilities.

Choose from Burrow or Bagend, each a charming Hobbit Howf, and whisk yourself and a partner off for a magical stay near Dunblane. Being a fan of Lord of the Rings is just an added quirk to your stay, but definitely not essential!

The hobbit houses themselves are traditionally built from stone and wood with beautiful views all around them. A hand-made double bed with a window above in the roof means you can gaze at the stars whilst cuddling up to your loved one.

A double gas ring hob and pots and pans mean you can cook up a storm inside or alternatively a fire pit / BBQ is available for use outside in your private garden. The houses are off grid and have a designer eco-friendly compost toilet in their own wee Hobbit Howf next door. Bag End has a slipper bath with handheld shower, whilst The Burrow has a hobbit-style shower, however both have adjacent hand-carved wooden wash hand basins.

The car park is 200 metres from the houses but you will be lent a wheelbarrow to help you carry your luggage.

The area itself offers a wealth of activities, but just locally this includes a visit to the beautiful medieval Dunblane Cathedral, a tour of many whisky distilleries with Drams Scotland, or a round of golf at The New Dunblane Golf Course. With Loch Lomond only a short distance away you can enjoy many walks around this stunning area.

Price per night is £175 per night with a minimum 2 night stay. Craighead Howf does not allow children or pets to join you on your stay.

The Hobbit Howfs are available from the end of March until the end of November.
