Gorgeous private estate that houses 4 unique properties, all with hot tubs on the banks of the River Dye near Bachory.
Deep within Aberdeenshire, not far from the Cairngorms National Park you can discover this treasure of a place with unique cabins and cottages, hot tubs and outdoor showers all set within stunning scenery. The 4 properties are all different in style but similar in the ideology that you need to simply relax and enjoy the peace and tranquility of Glen Dye.
The Saw Mill is the most unique of the 4 properties and sleeps 2+2 people. It is split between a 1955 Airstream Safari caravan which holds your deluxe double bed and a wooden cabin dating from the 1800's which has been completely renovated and now houses your modern kitchen and living area with a double sofa bed. Here you can find a range of games and books as well as a record player and records! The outside area is delightful and here you can find your private wood fired hot tub as well as an incredibly imaginative outdoor shower which has been created in the bones of the abandoned sawmill. If you prefer to cook al fresco then light up the Big Green Egg BBQ or RoccBox Pizza Oven and enjoy some culinary delights!
North Lodge and River Cabin was originally built in the late 1890's and has been completely refurbished and sleeps 6. It now houses a gorgeous modern property with feature artwork, colourful walls, fully equipped kitchen and central heating all set deep within a forest location. There are 2 king size bedrooms and 2 singles plus a large sitting room with open fire. Follow the river path and you will discover the River Cabin, home to all your entertainment needs with everything from a Big Green Egg BBQ to wild swimming gear plus of course your riverside wood fired hot tub!
No 4 Steading Cottage was designed by 2012 Young Architects of the Year and has been refurbished from a run down Victorian farm building to a modern, stylish property for up to 7 guests. It has quirky artwork in all the rooms and colourful feature walls as well as a cosy wood burning stove. It has 2 king size bedrooms, 1 twin room and 1 single room so is perfect for a large family or friends sharing. Outside down a short pathway is your own private hot tub plus of course the obligatory Big Green Egg BBQ can be found in your garden with al fresco dining furniture. However if you prefer to cook inside there is a fully equipped modern kitchen with everything you could need to cook up a storm!
No 5 Steading Cottage is right next door to No 4 and also sleeps 7 and benefits from all the same great features. The difference between the two properties is that No 5 has exclusive use to The Smiddy, a stone building that houses a wonderful games space as well as a secluded outdoor entertaining space with that all important wood fired hot tub and Big Green Egg BBQ!
Locally there is plenty to do, although dragging yourself away from the property of your choice and the bubbles of the hot tub may be a hardship! If you chose to venture out be sure to wear your hiking boots as there are a number of beautiful walks in the area or maybe try your hand at canoeing on the River Dye. If you prefer a more sedate way of life then a trip to Craigievar Castle for a guided tour and stroll around the gardens may be more your cup of tea.
