Glenwhan Shepherd's Hut

Stranraer, Dumfries and Galloway, Scotland

Gorgeous shepherd's hut set withing the stunning 12 acre Glenwhan Gardens offers a truly peaceful retreat for those looking to get away from it all!

The beautiful Glenwhan Gardens are a labour of love that have taken over 35 years to grow to the stunning display of trees, wildflowers, grasses and ferns that now exist. What better way to enjoy them with your loved one than to stay within the 12 acre garden, in a bespoke shepherd's hut with views over the loch and out to the Mull of Galloway!

The hut is set within its own private fenced off area and offers a wonderful getaway from the strains and stresses of everyday life. Simply sit back, take in the wonderful nature around you and breathe! The hut may be bijou in appearance but inside you can find a comfy kingsize bed, wood burning stove, shower room and kitchenette facilities, everything you could need for a break away from the routine of life. Take time to read that book or spend quality time with your loved one playing games or simply putting the world to rights.

The garden itself is your own personal playground for the duration of your stay as well as a 17 acre moorland walk. Here you can enjoy spotting squirrels and peacocks, follow the tree trail and take bench breaks by the two small lochs. After a stroll head to the on-site tearoom where you can enjoy a bowl of delicious home-made soup or slice of cake!

If you can tear yourself away from this beautiful place then the ruins of Glenluce Abbey and Dunskey Castle are well worth a visit. Alternatively enjoy a game of golf or simply take a stroll along the gorgeous coast line.
