For the past 4 years, Black Isle Yurts has offered comfortable glamping in a fabulous location and has welcomed over 3000 visitors. This eco-sensitive site now has 7 handcrafted yurts set on a small working farm on the stunning Scottish coast. The yurts all have their own private pitches and access to the facilities in The Hub, which has panoramic sea views to Fort George and beyond. Dog-friendly.
There are 150 acres of beaches, woods and farmland to explore, much of it an eco-diverse site of special scientific interest. Wildlife abounds, the Learnie mountain bike trails are next door, and the picturesque nearby villages of Cromarty, Rosemarkie and Fortrose are noted for their history, arts, crafts and eateries.
Black Isle Yurts is off-grid - offering you a chance to escape the stress of daily life and get back to nature. Located by Eathie in the Scottish Highlands, guests can experience a peaceful and relaxing break, whilst still being only 30 minutes from Inverness.
The yurts are made from locally sourced wood and located in secluded individual sites so as not to distract from the natural beauty of the area. The owners take their role as custodians of the land very seriously, upgrading footpaths, protecting the site of special scientific interest and farming in an environmentally sensitive way.
There are 7 yurts available, Willow sleeps 5, Cherry, Aspen, Rowan, Juniper, sleep 4, Holly sleeps 3 and Hazel geodome sleeps 2. All are equipped with a cosy wood burning stove, a basket of logs, comfy beds, table and chairs, 2 hob gas cooker/grill, cutlery, crockery, pots, pans and a kettle.
The yurts do not have mains power and water supply. Instead, night lights, solar/hand powered lighting and a refillable container of water are provided.
The Hub offers shower, toilet and washing up facilities plus a reception area and stunning water views. There are also further bathroom facilities near Willow Yurt which is the furthest from The Hub.
Children and well-behaved dogs welcome, however, please note that Holly is a dog free yurt. Dogs charged at £20 each per stay. Ample parking. Free WiFi in The Hub. No smoking.
A basketful of firewood is provided. Extra wood is available at £5 per basket.
Costs from £50 per yurt per night in low season when staying for a week. There is a 2-night minimum stay.
