Description

Coracle Yurt sleeps up to 2 adults and is set on an adult-only, luxury glamping site in a peaceful woodland setting in West Dorset close to Lyme Regis.

Situated in an elevated position overlooking a pond, Coracle Yurt offers 18 feet of interior space with traditionally hand crafted techniques used to form the domed roof. Inside you can find your comfy king size bed with electric blanket, log burner, quirky coat stands, comfy sofas and a dressing table.

Outside there is a gorgeous well equipped kitchen with a wood fired pizza oven & a BBQ that doubles as a fire brazier, ideal for al fresco dining. There is a hammock under the trees perfect for an afternoon nap, as well as other outdoor seating. There is also a private bathroom area with a proper flushing toilet and an amazing piping hot tree shower!

The site is located in Holditch, Dorset. It is a private, quiet setting in the Dorset AONB very close to the Jurassic Coast World Heritage Site. It is just south of Somerset and not far from Devon too. Locally you can take a stroll to the nearby pub, visit the estate of Forde Abbey with its Medieval monastery or vist the Black Cow Vodka distillery for a tour or their unique milk vodka. Fans of River Cottage will delight in a meal there or booking on a course including butchery, foraging and beekeping amongst others. Alternatively head to the Blackdown HIlls AONB where you can discover valleys, forests, rivers and Iron Age history.

If you are looking to eat out then The Anchor Inn, on Seatown Beach and the Tytherleigh Arms (just over 2 miles away) are both highly recommended.

Please note there is a strong and fast 4G mobile signal for those who are not seeking a digital detox. No WiFi. There is hot and cold running water and electric sockets. No pets. No under 18's. Linen and towels provided.

FAQs

Can I bring my beautifully behaved small dog?

Sadly not, whilst we are dog owners and lovers ourselves we are not allowed to accommodate guest’s dogs in the woods due to the wildlife and the livestock in the surrounding fields. The same applies for terribly behaved large dogs.

Can I bring my beautifully behaved children?

The retreat is designed and built just for grown ups, therefore we have a minimum age of 18 in the woods making it the perfect romantic break for parents & teachers!

What are the toilet & washing facilities?

The yurt has its own proper flushing loo & shower. The water is mains fed drinking water.

I have to be back at work on Monday morning, can I stay just two nights over the weekend?

Weekend bookings run from 4pm on Friday to 10am on Monday or any part thereof for a fixed price. Many guests leave on Sunday night having enjoyed Sunday in the woods if they cant stay over until Monday without having to get up and out 1st thing on Sunday morning.

How long is the walk from the carpark to the camp in the woods?

It's a 3-5 minute walk down hill to your new home in the woods. Please don’t pack any more than is necessary (see what to bring below)

What do I need to bring/pack?

As little as possible… – suitable clothes for walking down on arrival and for sitting outside in the evenings, food, drink & personal toiletries.

What do you supply?

All bed linen & towels, shampoo, body wash & conditioner, starter logs, kindling & firelighters for the log-burner and pizza oven and olive oil, salt/pepper, sugar & flour. We also supply ground coffee & tea bags.

Is there mains electricity?

Yes there are sockets & usb sockets by the bed and lighting throughout.

I want to try pizza making when staying, what do I need to bring?

Just tomato puree & toppings of your choice assuming you have pre-ordered frozen pizza dough. We supply flour, logs & kindling.
