Hidden Valley Yurt 5

Llanishen, Chepstow, Monmouthshire, Wales

Enjoy a relaxing yurt glamping break in stunning countryside near Chepstow, with spacious terrace and views. Closed in winter.

The Quirky Tour

A beautiful valley with brook opens out into a meadow housing a collection of spaced yurts with a communal outside kitchen area between them. Thinking of holidaying with friends? Book Yurt 4 & 5 together as they are on the other side of the outdoor kitchen away from the others. I recommend the wonderful walk around the valley to take in the views and wildlife. We enjoyed a visit to Raglan Castle and Monmouth within a short drive or there are more local pubs as well. Although the yurts were not open for my winter visit I can vouch for the fact this is a stunning glamping location. Jess' visit on 21st January during The Quirky Tour 2023

  • Gorgeous yurt sleeps up to 4 guests in a king size bed and 2 single futons on a site near Chepstow.
  • The yurt has great views over the Welsh countryside from its large terrace with BBQ and chimenea.
  • There are shared bathroom and kitchen facilities.
  • Within 10 minutes from the yurt you can enjoy canoeing, rock-climbing, mountain biking and paddle boarding.

Set deep within 80 acres of meadow and woodland you can find this Mongolian yurt sleeping up to 4 people on the edge of the beautiful Wye Valley, near Chepstow. The yurt site has a Quality Assured award.

Yurt 5 is the last yurt in a field, in a gloriously sunny spot and offers peace and tranquility – perfect for those that want a quiet (or romantic) retreat.

Inside the yurt is a king-size bed and 2 single futons. It also has Mongolian furniture and wall hangings and other items of ethnic furniture. The large crown lets in masses of light and a rain cap can be removed for star gazing on fine evenings. The central wood burning stove has a fire guard and everything you need to light your fire. The wooden floors are covered with coir matting with decorative rugs on top.

The back door opens onto a large decked area which has a chimenea, built in BBQ and wood store and a large table and chairs as well as a bench seat. This yurt is perfect for those who want privacy or who want a large eating and sunbathing space of their own.

The view from Yurt 5 takes in the length of the field with long views over the Welsh countryside. West facing you will get the best views of the sunset from here.

Outside you can enjoy the space on the large deck and chill out on the benches and chairs. Enjoy dining al fresco at the table making use of the BBQ and chimenea.

Yurt 5 has shared kitchen and bathroom facilities.

There is plenty to do and see on this farm site with children loving the freedom of outdoor space and adults loving the tranquility and beauty of the area. Enjoy many walks around the grounds, taking time to spot the farm animals including the long haired cattle, Soay sheep and many chickens. Challenge the children to a game of badminton or boules or make a den in the forest before splashing in the river. After a busy day enjoy a stroll to the local village for dinner in the pub.

Further afield you can visit the towns of Monmouth, Tintern and Raglan. Those looking for adventure can try canoeing, rock-climbing, mountain biking and paddleboarding all within 10 miles of the site. Alternatively take in some culture with a visit to Tintern Abbey, where you can explore the ruins before enjoying a cuppa at one of the local village cafes or head to the rugged terrain of the Brecon Beacons, just a 30 minute drive away.

Minimum stay of 2 nights with anyday arrival. If you wish to book a hot tub for your stay this can be done at a cost of £150 for a weekend of midweek stay or £250 for a weekly stay.

**Please note this yurt is next to Yurt 4 so isn't totally private although the decks face opposite directions. These 2 yurts are ideal for 2 families wanting to holiday together.

The Yurts are closed from October through to the end of March.

No pets. No group bookings.
