A great location in good weather

I've just spent 24 hours here and I loved it. There is so much space to wander around with lots of casual space to sit and relax both inside and out. The staff are fun, the food was good and the bedrooms are huge. The only downside is the trip there and back on the boat is best done in good weather and impossible when the weather is bad - but they do plan ahead.
At Sea

What an experience to be at sea, in comfort, and not rocking about! We had perfect weather for our stay so really enjoyed the outdoor space - the hot tub, the log fire, petanque...and the meals, plus the cocktail class (added extra).
At first for the tour, boat etc I thought it could feel busy on the fort, but actually there is a lot of separate spaces to get away from others if you want to and we had a peaceful time, including an afternoon snooze.
I would recommend this fort for a different experience, perhaps with a group of friends to celebrate an occasion or people interested in the history of the place. For a couple perhaps Spitbank Fort - the smaller neighbouring fort - would have a more intimate feel.
The boat departs from alongside a great shopping area and by the Spinnaker viewing tower so save some time for this too.
