Welcome to Redwood Valley – Eco-friendly yurt & cabin glamping on the welsh border

This rural retreat on the Welsh/English border offers a woodland getaway in one of two yurts sleeping, up to 5 people, or a treetop cabin, which sleeps up to 3.

Redwood Valley is set in 25 acres of semi-ancient woodland that has been lovingly restored to its former glory whilst preserving its natural beauty - it's truly a hidden gem.

The retreat has two nature trails to follow, a brook where you can paddle if you are brave enough and a giant rope swing. Just a short distance away is the local town of Presteigne where you can find an array of independent shops and eateries. A local farm park and owl sanctuary and a visit to Ludlow Castle, make for the perfect day out.

The treetop cabin, offers a unique experience to stay high up amongst the boughs of the trees with panoramic views of the surrounding woods and complete privacy. With a double bed and L-shaped day bed and feather down duvets, pillows and white bed linen, it can comfortably sleep a family of four. A small fridge, tea and coffee making facilities, a log burner to keep you warm on chilly evenings and a wind up lantern are also provided. With a large balcony, seating area and hammock, you can completely relax and listen to the birds singing around you. There is a private composting toilet, just a short walk away.

The two yurts, one a traditional Mongolian ger, named Eilian Yurt, and the other a Turkmen Bentwood yurt, named Seren Yurt, are both beautifully furnished with a kingsize bed made in Redwood Valley itself, double and single futon. They come equipped with down duvets, and pillows, electric bedside lights and wind up lanterns. With a log burning stove, they stay cosy all year round, so after taking in the night sky from your personal terrace you can retreat inside to the warmth. With a spring water tap and BBQ/fire pit, you can enjoy eating al fresco or you can chose to make use of the beautiful woodland kitchen with all mod cons including two fridges, kettle, toaster, microwave, 2 gas hobs and utensils. Complimentary tea, coffee, cooking oil, condiments and herbs/spices are provided too. There is a communal long trestle table. The shower and composting toilets are situated close to the yurts and kitchen.

No pets are allowed due to the wildlife in the forest. Cars can be parked at the top of the valley. The treetop cabin is not suitable for those with limited mobility. Closed during winter. 2 night minimum stay.

Woodworking and silversmithing courses are available throughout the season, please enquire for further details.

Prices start from £110-£130 per night for the yurts and £120-£140 per night for the treetop cabin. If staying for 5 nights or more a discount will be applied.
