You are welcome to stay in this fully restored 17th century village house for 4 guests in the heart of historic Verteuil-sur-Charente. The property is located at the foothill of the Chateau and just a stones throw from the Moulin de Verteuil and the Charente River.

The village has a great relaxed feel and the locals are always happy to stop and chat. The boulangerie sells artisanal bread and great pastries. The village also has 2 good restaurants, winebar/cave, general provisions shop, butchers, Post Office, chemist, Lady and Gents hair saloons, Antique shop, real estate agent, 2 tea rooms and a florist.

The Chateau de Verteuil dominates the village from all directions. Verteuil-sur-Charente is just 5 km from Ruffec which has all the facilities of a large French town. The property is 165 sq meters over 3 floors.

On the ground floor the kitchen/dining area is set up to accommodate 6 people with plenty of work spaces for cooking. A open fireplace and original stone sink and antique furniture abound. The 2 bedrooms and bathroom are on the 1st floor. Bedroom 1 has a lovely French antique double bed with new mattress and plenty of storage. Bedroom 2 is set up with 2 antique single beds with new mattresses. Great antique French armoire and period fittings. On the 2nd floor the main living room has a open and spacious feel with a modern twist in furnishings and a view of the Chateau.

The whole house costs €80 a night with a minimum of 7 nights. Longer stays for reduced rates - please enquire. A security deposit of €300 against damages is required. Changeover day is flexible. No pets.
