A cosy cottage for 2 set on a 35 acre farm in Yeovil offers a romantic rural retreat.
Sock Farm and Cottage are nestled a mile and a half down a no through road in Yeovil, surrounded by 35 acres of their own beautiful hills, fields and wooded areas, all of which are available for guests to enjoy. The cottage sleeps 2.
Sock Cottage offers a haven of tranquility and comfort for those seeking peace and birdsong yet it is close to main routes from London to the West country if you want to explore the area with ease or break a journey to Devon and Cornwall.
Sock Farm is a listed building, once a keepers cottage for the nearby National Trust owned Montacute House and the cottage is a converted dairy attached to the main house. The farmland and stable yard are run as a stud breeding ponies so if your interest is in horses, also music or woodwork, you will feel at home.
Inside Sock Cottage you will find a large, comfortable, beamed bedroom which can be prepared with either a super king or 2 full size single beds according to guests' wishes. The inviting en-suite shower room has lighting and a vaulted ceiling. Double oak doors, hand made in the workshop on site, lead from the bedroom to an open plan living/dining area that is light, comfortable and welcoming with wonderful views of the hill fields.
The little cottage kitchen has all the essentials and supplies to welcome the guests without the need to shop on the way. Outside is a small flower and herb adorned courtyard which is quite a sun trap on summer days.
Prices include a delicious 'next morning' breakfast of local farm produce. The nightly rate for 2 people staying at Sock Cottage starts from around £80 during the week and £105 at weekends (Fri/Sat/Sun). Minimum 2 night stay although single night stays may be accepted mid-week.
Music studio on site so musicians will be practising on the farm.
No pets as owner's have their own.
