The Directory of Unusual Places to Stay

The Houseboat

Hamworthy, Dorset, England

Architect designed property inspired by an upturned hull of a ship offers views over Poole Harbour.

WE NO LONGER FEATURE THIS ACCOMMODATION - but there are plenty of other amazing places. Take a look!

Stunning property with a design based on the upturned hull of a ship offers large open spaces and great views from every window and sleeps 10 near Poole.

The grand entrance hallway is bright and spacious and naturally leads you towards the master bedroom with en-suite bathroom, front garden access and views of the heathland. Opposite this room is a corridor that holds the other bedrooms; a kingsize double (or twin), bunk bed room for the children and 2nd master bedroom with en-suite shower room and garden access. There is also a utility room with washing machine and tumble dryer on this floor and a family bathroom.

Back at the entrance hall you can climb the stairs to the first floor which leads to a glorious open plan kitchen diner with views out of floor to ceiling windows. Across from here you can find a spacious living area with an extra staircase that leads to a cosy sitting room on a top floor mezzanine level. The property has all mod cons with the kitchen being fully equipped and the lounge having a TV with DVD player plus Wifi.

Locally you can enjoy a visit to Poole town where you can take in culture, shopping, a great choice of bars and restaurants plus the quay and harbour. The Jurassic Coast itself is a world heritage site and it is well worth taking a hike or stroll whilst you are here.

Prices from £1375 per week in low season to £2500 per week in high season. There is a 2 night minimum stay. Children welcome. No pets.
