Currently with no restrictions as this property is newly open to guests.

Take the path through the woods and discover ‘The Woodland Hut'. Nestling in a secluded clearing of peaceful woodland, the hut overlooks open fields and hedgerows. The woods are home to a variety of native birds and visited by rabbits, deer and pheasants. A barn owl often makes an appearance in the evenings and early morning, swooping silently in between the trees. Situated in the heart of Yorkshire's Nature Triangle, the hut is close to the stunning East Yorkshire coastline, the rolling hills of the Wolds and the historic towns of Beverley and York.

The cosy hut, which sleeps up to 2 adults, or a family with 2 young children, was handcrafted by Kevin Lordan at The Yorkshire Hut Company, using sustainable materials. The walls, inside and out, are lined with FSC accredited timber and insulated with sheep's wool. Argon filled, double glazed windows and a wood burning stove keep the hut snug and warm. It has mains electricity and water.

The hut has a comfy double bed, fitted with 100% cotton sheets and micro fibre pillows and duvet. There is an additional three quarter sized bunk bed, suitable for up to two small children. The compact kitchen is well equipped and the en-suite shower room has a state of the art composting toilet, electric shower, wash basin and fluffy bath and hand towels.

Relax in the Mexican hammock, gazing up at the magnificent, wide-open skies, or snuggle up by the ‘Hobbit' wood burning stove inside the hut. Cook over the barbeque/fire pit in the woods, or use the induction hob and microwave in the fully equipped kitchen. The Woodland Hut is the perfect getaway for people who want to be outdoors but also like convenience and home comforts.

You will receive a hamper of local produce, eggs from our own hens, luxury bedding, towels and skin care products and an unlimited supply of firewood and charcoal (all included in price below).

Prices start from £87 per night (two nights minimum stay) and from £424 per week.

No pets are allowed. No smoking in the hut.

Private, cosy retreat.

We had an amazing time during our 3 night stay. Katy was so hospitable and made a cake for Emily’s birthday! It was delicious.

Our privacy was respected at all times. The attention to detail and the nice touches around the hut were amazing. (Welcome letter, lanterns being turned on for our late return, free range eggs, environmentally friendly cleaning equipment, extra torches, )

The hut has all the amenities you could ask for. The toiletries were lovely. The kitchen was so well stocked that I was able to cook up a three course meal. There was plenty of firewood to keep the hut warm and it was so toasty. The novelty of cooking on top of the wood burning stove was great and we could use it for slow cooking, the included induction hob was good for quicker things. The bed was very comfortable and we found the space in the hut perfect for the two of us.

We took advantage of the ordnance Survey maps and walking guides to explore the local area.
We cannot wait to return, hopefully in dryer weather so we can use the fire pit outside. This was one of the nicest stays away for us in the U.K.
So cosy

We had a wonderful weekend stay in the Shepherds hut. Katy and John had thought of everything and it was all beautifully presented and everything was easy to find. The weather was nice but very cold, but it didn’t matter as the wood burning stove kept us warm and made it even more cosy. Would recommend to anyone looking for a cosy hideaway. We will be back.
Anniversary Weekend Jan 19th

Had a fantastic weekend here for our anniversary. Would highly recommend the woodland hut to couples wanting a relaxed, cosy and intimate retreat. Plenty to do in the surrounding areas we visited Brid (in the snow!) and Beverly for the bustling town and busy Saturday market. The hut was spotless and equipped with everything we needed. On arrival there was a beautiful hamper including fresh baked goods and a bottle of prosecco provided to celebrate our 4th anniversary. Thanks for a great weekend we will be returning in the summer to make use of the outside fire pit
Family break

My wife and I stayed at the Woodland Hut with our 2 children (aged 9 and 5). We had a lovely welcome from John and Katy and the walk down the candle lit woodland path was magical! The kids had a fantastic time and were very excited about sharing the top bunk and the little windows! There was also plenty for them to do in the local area. The hut had everything we needed including a fire pit for roasting marshmallows. We had a lovely stay but I would say it would probably be more comfortable for families with one child or 2 younger children.
Wonderful Weekend

We stayed at the Shepherds hut for my husbands birthday. It was perfect! The setting in the woodland is lovely and we could hear the owls in the evening. The inside is cosy and beautifully done out and there was everything we needed. The local pub was also nice for dinner out. Thank you for a wonderful weekend.
