Gorgeous glamping on Walcot Hall Estate - yurts, showman's caravans, fire truck, shepherd's hut & gypsy caravan sleeping 2-4 near Bishop's Castle.
Walcot Hall is set within the beautiful Shropshire Hills, close to Bishop's Castle and offers a range of quirky glamping and hut stays (plus 14 self-catering cottages) sleeping from 2-4 people.
Located on the Walcot Hall Estate this site benefits from an arboretum, lake with rowing boats, lawn for a spot of croquet plus the option to try horse-riding. With all this on your doorstep, there is no need to go any further! However, the area offers a wealth of attractions, including historic castles and quaint market villages aplenty.
Back on-site you can choose to stay in one of 5 yurts which sleep from 2-4 people. All yurts have a wood-burning stove, a double bed, seating area, plus a single/double ring gas stove, perfect for that morning cuppa! An old hen house has been converted into a WC with a flushing toilet and sink, plus there is a shower block on site for guests use and a small yet fully functioning communal kitchen area. The yurts have a shared area where you can enjoy a game of table tennis or badminton or simply relax around the campfire! Each yurt also has its own BBQ so you can enjoy dining al fresco whilst taking in the fresh Shropshire air before enjoying a spot of stargazing with your loved one. Choose the 'After the Gold Rush Yurt' (which sleeps 3 adults or 2 adults + 2 children with a double bed plus a small sofabed) to enjoy views over a lake style pool with use of a personal rowing boat! NEW Harvest Moon Yurt also has an enviable lakeside location set on its own private decking area and sleeps 3 in a double bed and day bed.
Stay in one of 2 Showman's Caravans, the green offers stunning views over the Shropshire Hills and Long Mynd with a traditional wooden style, whilst the red is nestled deep in the arboretum and has a traditionally hand-painted interior. Both sleep 2 people and have access to the communal bathroom facilities.
The Shepherd's Hut sleeps 4 in a kingsize double bed with 2 individual bunks above it, perfect for the younger members of the family. It is located in a clearing and has a fresh yet traditional interior design to it.
The shepherd's hut Ram Baa sleeps just 2 and offers a rural romantic space within the arboretum. With a small double bed, cosy seating area and outside space, this is the perfect place to get away from it all!
If you are feeling adventurous then chose to stay in the Gypsy Caravan. Only accessible on foot and with no running water or electric, this is a real tranquil getaway for those wishing to disconnect from the world. It sleeps 2 adults, plus there is space for a small child. Relax around the campfire and reconnect with nature and with each other.
Last but definitely not least, choose the Fire truck! The smallest but most quirky of the collection, the Fire Truck features a comfy double bed and vintage style decor. Soak up the romance in this forest location with just the light of the lanterns by which to see your loved one.
