Railway Cottage is a fabulous period cottage, built by Isambard Kingdom Brunel himself as he built the West Somerset Steam Railway. Recently fully refurbished and modernised to the highest of standards, Railway Cottage is a single storey stone cottage which sleeps up to six (plus cots) in three bedrooms with 2 bathrooms and the views from the cottage are simply stunning. Children and trainspotters with delight in the magnificent steam locomotives passing by. You will never tire of these beautiful trains passing by the original gangers cottage.
The decor of the cottage is finished in a modern, comfortable country style with a shaker style kitchen complete with belfast sink, wood and granite worktops and 21st century appliances including dishwasher, washer dryer, fridge freezer and electric oven with ceramic hob. The dining area has an oak table and cosy woodburner with all logs provided. The sitting room has comfy leather sofas and plasma TV with freesat and DVD player and doors out to the garden and hot tub.
Railway Cottage has 3 bedrooms, one with an ensuite shower room and five foot kingsize bed and views of the railway. The second bedroom has twin or double (zip and link) bed and the third can sleep 2 in a 5 foot king size bed, again with wonderful hill views. The main bathroom has a magnificent period bath.
Dogs welcome by prior arrangement. Wifi. 1 mile to a great pub. 2 parking spaces.
3 night weekends from Fri, 4 night midweek breaks from Monday and weekly stays on Fridays. Prices from £395 for a winter weekend. 7 night minimum in August for £1345.
