Fox Narrowboats is a family run business based in the Fens, near Cambridge and Ely, close to the River Ouse and the River Nene. They offer day hire (9.30am to 6pm) as well as 3, 4 and 7 day holidays. The boats sleep between 2 and 7 people and for day hire can accommodate up to 10 people.
Set off from the marina in March and explore the Cambridge river network and visit historic places such as Ely and Cambridge. Take quiet routes to Bedford, Cambridge, Northampton and beyond. Cambridge University, Ely Cathedral and Ferry Meadows Park are popular destinations.
There is plenty of room on the front and the back of the boats to relax and take in the picturesque English countryside. Inside the boat is equipped with TV, DVD, CD, radio, hairdryer, vacuum, heating, charger points, crockery, cutlery, microwave, oven, hob, fridge with freezer compartment, bed linen and welcome pack. The day hire boats for up to 10 people have hob, fridge, sink, crockery, cutlery, toilet and seating area.
Dogs are welcome on selected boats. Linen, towels, fuel and car parking are included.
The price for a short break ranges from £649 for a 2 to 4 berth boat and £779 for a 5 to 7 berth boat in the low season. Prices for a week range between £999 and £1499 depending on the size of the boat and the time of year. Monday and Friday changeover days. Prices include fuel, insurance plus damage waiver.
