A unique campsite with suspended tree tent and glamping cabin, near Lewes. A pretty place close to woodland for wildlife walks.

Tranquil site 5 miles north of Lewes in East Sussex with 2 Secret Shelters.A suspended Tree Tent and the Gridshell cabin plus 16 pitches for tents.  Both of these beautiful shelters have been designed by local designer Jason Thawley and the Tree Tent was featured on an early episode of George Clarkes Amazing Spaces.

Access to the Tree Tent is via wooden stairs, and the tent is suspended between 3 sturdy oak trees on the edge of the ancient woodland that surrounds the camping meadow. From the two windows in the Tree Tent there are fantastic views across the campsite and up to the South Downs National Park. Inside are three single beds with mattresses enabling you to relax and take in the canopy view, whilst gently moving with the sway of the trees. The Tree Tent has its own grass pitch where you can enjoy a campfire at the exclusive fire pit and a few friends can also camp with you.

The Gridshell is comprised of locally sourced steam bent ash and it is clad in a heavy duty sailing canvas. It will happily sleep 6 people on 2 double futons and roll mats. It is located in the orchard part of the campsite with its own firepit and a grass area for you to relax on and enjoy the sunshine and the wildlife we have encouraged into The Secret Campsite. This includes Glow worms, Dormice, Grass snakes, Nightingales and Great Crested Newts.

The Secret Campsite is located in a quiet, secluded part of East Sussex. The campsite is landscaped to encourage lots of wildlife into the camping areas for our guests to enjoy and has great access to cycling, walking and exploring the South Downs. It is a perfect base to explore Sussex and visit the local beaches, historical houses and gardens and enjoy the vibrant and historic town of Lewes.

There is a great farm shop 5 minutes’ walk away and lots of pubs nearby catering for a range of tastes and budgets.
