Day 41 of The Quirky Tour and Jess and Dom visited Gulliver the Quirky Camper in Kent, England.

Find out more about their visit:

First Impression:

A stay here gives you a compact but lovely space for a couple to hangout. Everything within a few steps!

You can park up outside and there is plenty to do in the area should you want to venture out. I loved the well planned interior of the van and the foliage painted all over it.

Unfortunately we missed owner Michelle whom we have worked with since 2017 but were pleased to have the chance to look around.

The Accommodation:

Within the van there is a double bed set up like a cosy box bed plus seating and a table alongside it. Open up the window by the bed for ventilation and view across the neighbouring fields.

To the other side you can do basic cooking in the kitchenette with mini oven/grill and hob and to light a woodburner for cooler nights. There is also a heater. Everything is careful placed in the compact space.

Outside is an enclosed ‘garden’ area. Equipped with a private wood fired hot tub and a firepit on fake grass - here you'll also find access to the rustic shower room and separate toilet.

Food and Drink:

Bring some food and drink items so you can stay in and enjoy each other’s company. There is a pub just down the road called The Royal Oak.

If you wish to explore a little more then you can venture to nearby Whitstable with its great range of restaurants, cafes and bars.

Jess' top tip:

Whitstable is a popular and quaint seaside town. But if you can, try and reach the quieter stretches of beach with colourful beach huts a little further at Tankerton Bay as we did - see in the photo above.

You can also take a picturesque walk at nearby Cook’s Glade, Blean wood or Keir Meadow Nature reserve and can explore the villages and coastline in the area.

Animal lovers will delight in a trip to Druidstone Wildlife Park which is conveniently situated next door!
