Day 5 of The Quirky Tour and Jess and Dom enjoyed a visit to the Garden Cube and Serenity Cube in Devon.
Find out more about their visit:
First Impression:
Clever use of space as living area is downstairs while you climb stairs to reach a raised double bed.
We have worked with Damian since 2015 and seen his now long established site grow from strength to strength with the addition of these cubes in spring 2022, so it was lovely to finally meet him.
The Accommodation:
The property is well designed with a large open plan living area on the ground floor that opens out onto a terrace area.
These feel modern and fresh in design and they are well equipped for a self catering holiday.
The main feature of the living area is a huge 4 metre screen that uses a projector for incredible movie experiences.
When it comes to bedtime, you climb the stairs to the elevated bedroom space overlooking the living area. Beneath that is the shower room. This leaves lots of room for relaxation.
Depending on which "cube" you choose (each is set separately for privacy), one enjoys a garden area, whilst the other has a large terrace with woodland view. Both have their own private hot tub.
Food and Drink:
Some tea and coffee making facilities are available on your arrival but the cubes are geared towards self catering so be sure to come prepared with your favourite meals.
Alternatively the owner recommends The Ship Inn at Noss Mayo, just a short 10 minute drive away, which offers a waterside location with bistro food.
Closer to the lodge you can discover The Rose and Crown just a short 1.5 mile walk away.
Jess' top tip:
Take the short 15 minute drive to Mothercombe Beach or a little further for Bigbury on Sea Beach where you can enjoy sandy beaches with rockpools or try your hand at watersports including windsurfing and kite surfing.
