Lodge, wigwams, tipis and lotus belle tents in a family run site with breathtaking views, close to Hadrians Wall. Some accom with private hot tubs.

Family friendly campsite with stunning views and wide open countryside on the doorstep makes Herding Hill Farm a pretty special place to visit. Hadrian's Wall is a 15-minute walk away and other attractions in Northumberland can be reached within an hours drive.

Wooden camping cabins, known as Wigwams, are open year round and offer a warm and cosy glamping experience. Each are equipped with foam mattresses, electricity for light, heating and appliances. There is a fridge, microwave, heater, lights and kettle. Bring your own sleeping bag and pillow. They sleep up to 6 adults are double glazed and lockable. Some have hot tubs for a small extra fee. There are 3 styles of wigwam: 6-berth, 5-berth and 2 adults/2 children combo. There is also a "no dogs" wigwam for those with allergies.

The site also has Tentipi Nordic Tipis for those wanted to capture the Nordic lifestyle and are set in their own "village". They are weatherproof, warm, cosy and have their own ventilated log burning stove. Bring your own bedding and other essentials. The Tipis can sleep up to 4 people and a well behaved dog! These are available from end Spring Bank Holiday in May until mid September.

Herding Hill Farm has 4 Lotus Belle Tents which are waterproof canvas tents that sit on a raised platform and have their own veranda. Each can sleep up to 4 people in 1 x double and 2 x single futon beds. All you need is to bring your own bedding. There are 2 openable, clear PVC windows which bring light into the Tents. Pets are not allowed in this accommodation. Open between Spring Bank Holiday until mid September.

Also available on the site is camping, pitches for caravans and motorhomes.

There is also a large wooden lodge which sleeps up to 4 adults / 2 children with a minimum 3-night stay. This has a deck with private hot tub and small private garden.

Herding Hill Farm won the Campsite of the Year Award for the North East for 2017/18.

There is a luxurious on-site amenities block which houses a shower suite (with underfloor heating) copious amounts of hot water, a family bathroom, an 8 person sauna, drying room, laundry room and dishwashing area.

Also, there is a BBQ hut which can be hired for 3 hours. A popular addition - pizzas can be delivered to your door. There is a small shop which sells essentials.

A large and safe play area is a great attraction for children as is the petting farm with guinea pigs, rabbits, donkeys, geese, ducks and other small farm animals.

Nearby there is a host of activities from Walby farm park to Go Ape in nearby Matfen to activities at Calvert Trust at Kielder to a variety of wonderful walks, biking trails and even geocaching is popular. There are local shops nearby and the Metro Centre at Gateshead is a 45-minute drive.

The Wigwams are £48 - £88 per night for 2 adults, children are £8 per night, over 16yrs £20 per night. Dogs £8 per night. Hot tubs available at an additional charge.

The Tipis are £35 - £45 per night for 2 adults, children and over 16 yrs are £4.40 per night. No pets. No cars by the Tipis.

Lotus Belle Tents are from £45 - £55 per night for 2 adults, children £4.40 per night and over 16yrs £10 per night. No cars permitted by the Lotus Belle Tents and no pets allowed.

The Luxury Holiday Lodge - Prices start at £356 for a 3 night weekend to £826 for 7 nights at a peak time. Arrival days Monday and Friday for 3/4/7 night stays.

The Wigwams and Lodge are open year round.
