A uniquely designed, modern hotel in the Rioja region with the backdrop of an old, traditional winery. Hot tub included.

Marqués de Riscal Hotel, a Luxury Collection Hotel is a true example of modernity and innovation set against the backdrop of an old, traditional winery. Its 43 rooms are fitted with the today’s most desirable luxuries. These amenities include: LCD televisions, CD recorders, coffee and tea sets, marble baths, and high-speed Internet access. The unique design was the work of architect Frank Gehry.

The Herederos del Marqués de Riscal winery is located in El Ciego in the south of the Rioja Alavesa, the most southern part of the province of Alava in the heart of the Rioja wine and grape area. The cellars of Elciego (Alava) are the best museum in which to see the living history of the wines of Herederos del Marqués de Riscal. The building of the first cellar began in 1858, the year the company was founded. Within these installations, now used for the maturing of wines in barrels, is the Cathedral, a cellar in which the greatest treasure of the Marqués de Riscal is kept; a unique collection of all the vintages produced by the winery since its beginnings over 149 years ago. The increase in wine production meant that the cellars had to be enlarged in 1883, an event not to be repeated until 1968 and 2000.
