Peakes Retreats

Anslow, Staffordshire, England

Stay in a yurt near the Peak District and enjoy the onsite HOT TUB and Finnish BBQ hut. Groups possible.

Get away from it all just outside of the quiet countryside village of Anslow and relax in a traditional Mongolian Yurt. Sleeping up to 6 people each the two yurts are set in a spacious enclosed field and offer year round comfort thanks to a woodburning stove. A shared hot tub is on offer for up to 8 people - a great place to relax and star gaze. Book a slot free of charge.

For larger groups it is possible to book 3 yurts (1 with private hot tub) for a total of 18 guests. See Milne's Corner (also listed on QuirkyAccom).

Located close to the Peak District, you can enjoy a morning walk and then stop off at the market town of Ashbourne before visiting the brewing town of Burton Upon Trent, famous for its Bass beer. If you want to shop till you drop, then Derby is close by with its large shopping centre. Families can enjoy local activities such as the National Forest Adventure Farm, and Alton Towers and Monkey Forest are only a short drive away.

The Yurts themselves are to be found at Gate Farm and offer glamping at its best. With a real bed for everybody, they are perfect for a family getaway. There is no electricity which adds to the traditional camping feel, but the glow of the woodburning stove will give you warmth and light in the winter months.

In the summer, you can enjoy cooking on one of the outdoor BBQ options or you can choose the large Finnish BBQ hut which is available all year round but perfect for grilling even in winter. If you prefer,  you can use the fully equipped comunal cooking cabin, with large electric range and shared fridge. The BBQ hut seats up to 24 people so a great way to meet the other glampers or why not hire the site and go with a group of friends or family!

There is an outdoor play area for children including playhouse, swings and a slide and chance to feed the farm animals too. Separate luxurious washrooms are available and include lockers where you can charge your mobiles.

Dogs welcome with a fee of £30 per yurt.

Prices start from £100 per night during low season for a midweek stay and £150 per night during high season for a weekend stay with a minimum 2 night stay. This is based on 2 adults sharing. Additional adults charged at £20 per night and children charged at £10 per night with a maximum of 6 guests per yurt.
