Located on the grounds of the Waterloo Cottage Farm, a family-run farm in Great Oxendon, 3 beautiful Yurts are available for the perfect glamping experience, in the wild but without having to give up on any modern comforts... There even is a carbon neutral wood-burning hot tub!
Nutkin - sleeps up to 6 people
Ginger & Pickles - sleeps up to 6 people
Puddleduck - sleeps 2 people
Groups of up to 14 welcome if booking the whole. Great for Hen dos!
The yurts are kept in a traditional design, but with all amenities. They are spacious and have picturesque views across the farm. Each of them is based on a wooden platform and has a log burner, cosy beds, a roof window to watch the stars and shabby chic furnishings. Two of the yurts sleep up to 6 people in a double bed and up to 4 single beds, the third yurt sleeps two people in one king-size bed. Each yurt also has its own solar-powered hub to light the yurt and to charge electronic devices.
There are two bathrooms with hot water and eco-friendly toilets. The shared kitchen is well-equipped, including a kettle, toaster, hob, pans, crockery and cutlery, fridge and microwave. Each yurt also has its own BBQ and tools. Everything is prepared for self-catering, and there are also special extras such as local food and drink hampers, breakfast hampers and afternoon tea delivered to your yurt.
Most importantly, to make the stay perfect, guests have access to a wood-fired hot tub with view over the farm from where they can watch the stars at night. Logs for daily use are included in the stay.
The site is easily accessible, being just off the A508, a few miles away from the town of Market Harborough. The yurts are based on a working farm and guests have the opportunity to get to know the farm and to visit the vegetable garden, the orchard and the pond area. Regular events like food making courses and wine tastings are also held on site.
When leaving the farm, the area also offers great opportunities for walking, cycling (Brampton Valley Way can be accessed from here) and other leisure activities. There is an award-winning farm shop and also plenty of eating out opportunities, like a welcoming local pub. Further, visits to Foxton Locks, Kilworth House, Deene Park, Rockingham Castle and surrounding fishing lakes are easy from here. The lovely town of Market Harborough is only 2 miles away and larger cities like Northampton and Leicester, with shops, museums and theatres are also within easy reach (15 and 20 miles).
Perfect for families, there is also plenty to do for children on site, like meeting the little piglets, the highland cows, the lambs and the two friendly farm dogs. An indoor trampoline park and Harborough Leisure Centre are not far away.
Puddleduck, the yurt sleeping 2 people, costs between £110 and £130 per night, being cheapest on Weekdays and between October and April. The other two yurts, Nutkin and Ginger & Pickles that can sleep up to 6 people, cost between £135 and £155 per night. There is a minimum stay of 2 nights and a £50 refundable deposit.
Dogs are allowed for an additional £5 per night.
A group of 14 can be accepted for hire of all 3 yurts.
