Beautiful but a disappointing experience

The boat itself is beautiful, and the view is out of this world.
Unfortunately we had toxic fumes in the boat for over half our stay, which we mentioned on arrival. After living with it for over 24 hours, not sleeping, and then feeling ill, we called one of the owners.
We resolved the issue by switching on a switch, which had not been pointed out when we originally complained of the smell.
When we asked for some kind of 'good will' gesture, we were accused of lying, so we could not resolve the issue directly with the owner.
Very disappointing, and very poor customer services.

I have received the guests review and have the following comments to make.
As soon as the complaint was forwarded to me, I immediately contacted the cleaners who had prepared Faithful to confirm whether, for my own clarity, the fan had been left on. I was informed that as per our contract with them all the usual checks re Heath and safety had most definitely been carried out and ticked on the pre arrival checklist .
I then spoke to the partner of the guest who had originally made the booking, reference their concerns.
I do not accept the use of the word 'toxic'. As a retired fishing trawler she will, at most, emit a slight diesel odour when the blowers are not on but with the blowers on this is never an issue.

We tried in every way to accommodate these guests We broke our three day minimum stay rule because they were not sure if they could stay for personal reasons and when they decided they could stay three it was, as I had made very clear to them might happen, booked. They stayed two nights and demanded that, due to their discomfort, they should have a third night free. Unfortunately for them it had been made clear in previous emails that the third night by this time was no longer available to them as already booked. We allowed them to stay later than usual on their departure day and felt we had responded in every way with courtesy and respect.
At no point did I say anyone was a liar.
I understand they had an uncomfortable first night but this could have been avoided by a simple phone call, not waiting a night and the entire next day before mentioning their concerns. As it turned out it was a simple question of a switch ,and their discomfort would have been cured.

I'm sorry to hear of their disappointment.

Our week on “Faithful” was absolutely wonderful.
The owners do everything they can to ensure your stay is comfortable and relaxed, ranging from organising your parking close to the marina, to fresh flowers on arrival and ice in the freezer!
The boat is moored in the most fantastic spot on the outer edge of the marina with a sea view that you would pay a fortune for in an hotel. A cosy bedroom, comfortable lounge area, hot shower, efficient loo, romantic lighting, TV and a stock of games and videos should you tire of watching the ships go by. “Faithful” is also equipped with everything you could possibly need if you wished to cater for yourself – crockery, cutlery, pots, pans and cooking utensils, an efficient oven, fridge and microwave. Or a ten minute walk into the heart of Brixham will take you to a myriad of restaurants, most of which, as you would expect, specialising in freshly caught sea food.
There is so much to do in the Torbay area, that we were busy every day, but the highlight was returning to “Faithful” and relaxing on deck to watch the constant comings and goings in and out of the marina and harbour. There is even a nosy seal that took a close look at us most mornings and evenings!
We cannot recommend this holiday enough…and worth every penny!!!
