Located in the South Downs National Park, Hut Therapy is a whole food B&B featuring unique accommodation in the gentle, rural hamlet of East Chiltington, near Lewes. Guests can learn about macrobiotic cooking, principles and way of life during their stay. Not just an overnight stay but a holistic, therapeutic experience.
Set in the owner’s garden, Hut Therapy offers a bespoke wooden cabin with views of the garden and main house. The accommodation comprises a double cabin bed, en-suite bathroom with WC/shower, a small seating area inside the cabin and shared use of the garden. There is a fridge, kettle and toaster provided in the cabin, together with plates, cutlery, mugs & glasses and complimentary herbal teas, grain coffee, non-dairy milk & natural sweetener.
The owner is an accredited macrobiotic cook and health adviser with the Macrobiotic Association of GB. Guests are served a healthy, plant-based whole food diet and, if desired, macrobiotic quality whole food breakfast during their stay. Whole food picnics & other meals are provided by arrangement, and the owner caters for special diets, including gluten-free, vegan and lactose-free diets, naturally. Breakfast is served in the house (where the owner is on hand to answer questions), the garden or cabin.
Acupuncture, shiatsu, facial massage and other treatments (using Neal's Yard products) are available on site - please book in advance of your stay.
Hut Therapy can be a good base for those recovering from an illness or starting on a new food journey as well as for those wanting to learn more about healthy living.
East Chiltington lies in an area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Activities in the immediate area include horse riding, cycling (bicycles are available to hire) and hiking/walking. Other places of interest in the area are Brighton, 13 miles away, famous for its music & cultural scene, Glyndebourne Opera House, National Trust properties and the Bluebell Railway. Spectacular coastal walks at the Seven Sisters Country Park (also popular for bird watching, cycling & canoeing) & Birling Gap, along chalk cliffs, meandering Cuckmere river valley and open chalk grassland, less than 18 miles away. There are also opportunities for paragliding and hot air ballooning in the vicinity.
It is possible to reach Hut Therapy by public transport. It is a 20-minute walk from Plumpton Railway Station and less than an hour by train from London Victoria and Gatwick Airport (both London to Ore train service). The Newhaven-Dieppe Ferry service is about 13 miles away. If arriving by car, the property offers free parking. 2 excellent pubs within walking distance.
At Hut Therapy they endeavour to maintain a therapeutic environment everywhere on site: there is no smoking policy in the cabin, house and gardens.

For a night the price starts at £65 for 2 with a reduction for single occupancy. There is space for 1 additional child in the cabin in a travel cot or futon bed. There is a separate charge for wireless connection. Single occupancy from £55 per night.
