Gorgeous rural off grid bothy offers a romantic retreat for 2 at the Port of Menteith, near Stirling. 

The Fank, (Gaelic for Sheep pen), stands alone in its own private area with stunning views over the Scottish hills. Here you can totally unwind, relax and listen to the sound of nature around you from the comfort of your terrace area with your favourite cuppa or tipple in hand. 

Inside the bothy eco friendly power rules! There is solar power and wind turbines for electric plus a wood fired stove oven for heating and cooking. There is also a BBQ and small gas powered table top stove for ease in whipping up a tasty meal. You can enjoy dining on the rustic table provided or even eat on your laps whilst taking in the views from the sofa. Up the stairs to the mezzanine level and you can discover a cosy double bed area, the perfect place to rest your head after a busy day hiking.

Outside the bothy in a private small room, there is a modern eco toilet and shower. Water for the shower is heated on the stove before being put into the canvas shower bag and hey presto you have a piping hot shower!

If you would like to order food in then enquire when booking about the gorgeous homecooked food including a venison casserole or a spicy bean burger with homemade  paprika chips! Be sure to finish this off with a delicious fruit crumble, made with fruit from the Nether Glenny orchard when it's in season, with custard or cream!
