Description

***SPECIAL OFFER***

Add Sunday night to your weekend break for just an extra £150 from November to March - excluding peak dates and £225 between April-October.

Stay 7 nights or more at £225 per night year round.

Situated within fifty five acres of Devon’s famous Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, this roundhouse with hot tub is hidden from the hustle and bustle of the outside world near to the seaside towns of Sidmouth and Beer and offers a couple the chance to totally relax. With its raised deck looking out into the trees it has the feel of a treehouse too!

The House of Round is just that, a delightful building inspired by all things round and built almost entirely from recycled materials and wood grown and felled on the owner's land. It also has the feel of a treehouse with a raised deck with seating and hot tub. It uses natural spring water too so you will be sure you are drinking only nature's best.

The owners are committed to making your stay unique and memorable. This includes baggage assistance for arrival and departure, special attention for meals out at Glebe House locally, and a tree-treasure hunt with prize.

The property includes a double bedroom and its own shower room, with flushing loo and electric shower. The perfect blend of nature and creature comforts, you can cook dinner over either of the two fire pit BBQs (one beside the accommodation the other in the meadow) under the stars, or grab something out of the full sized fridge freezer (also featuring a cold water dispenser) and make yourself breakfast on the induction hob, microwave, or toaster with a cup of coffee from the instant boil tap. When it comes to relaxing you can curl up in front of a log fire, with an option of watching your favourite films or series on the curved screen Smart TV, listen to your favourite music and podcasts on a built in sound system compatible with all smart phone types, or sit out on the decking and enjoy the variety of bird calls and quiet rustling of the leaves just outside your window.

The House of Round is completely secluded, neither in view of neighbours or any neighbours in view. Outside you can relax on the decking overlooking the valley - bluebell season is a particular highlight, or slip into the ground level hot tub.

Locally you can take a stroll through a private woodland walk that is filled to the brim with local wildlife, with a sparkling brook running throughout where kingfishers are not uncommon. Alternatively take to the coast and visit the beach at Sidmouth or the quarry caves at Beer.

This may not suitable for those with mobility difficulties due the walk to the property.

Parking is available in a private yard and from there the property is a 5 minute woodland walk away. The owner can take your baggage by vehicle.

*IMPORTANT. THIS RETREAT IS SITUATED IN WILD WOODLAND, THIS MEANS THERE ARE TRIPPING HAZARDS SUCH AS TREE ROOTS AND AREAS PRONE TO MUD, ESPECIALLY IN POOR WEATHER. PLEASE BRING SUITABLE FOOTWEAR, WATERPROOF WITH GOOD TREAD TO PREVENT SLIPPING ON THE TERRAIN. NOT TRAINERS.

THE HOUSE OF ROUND IS LOCATED AT THE END OF A LONG BUMPY TRACK, THIS MAY NOT BE SUITABLE FOR LOW VEHICLES. IF YOU HAVE A SMALL, LOW VEHICLE, ESPECIALLY A "SPORTS CAR" THE OWNER CAN OFFER ALTERNATIVE PARKING FURTHER AWAY FROM THE ACCOMMODATION FROM WHICH YOU WILL BE PICKED UP. PLEASE INFORM THE OWNER IN ADVANCE OF YOUR STAY IF YOU WOULD PREFER THE ALTERNATE PARKING.

Organic hampers can be arranged from Glebe House nearby, or you can enjoy a meal there. (Due to Glebe House often being fully booked these need to be arranged well in advance of your stay).

The Roundhouse has sockets, including direct to USB plug in sockets located in the main room and bedroom. WiFi is provided. Mobile reception can be poor depending on your mobile network provider, 3 and EE are the most efficient in this area.

If you want to visit local beaches - Branscombe is less than 5 miles away, Lyme Regis has a lovely sandy beach and is located 12 miles away, Sidmouth also has a slightly smaller sandy beach as well as a pebble one located 9 miles away.

Adults only. No children or infants.

Dogs are welcome by arrangement only. There are sheep, deer and other wildlife around the estate which will make the stay unsuitable for some dog owners. Please give information about your dog in the comment box when you request to book.

*** Please note these dates for Wiscombe Park Hill Climb as this will affect your stay. Fun event but noisy vehicles on neighbouring land. This is about a fifteen minute walk from the Roundhouse along private tracks.

FAQs

Can I bring any dog?

We ask that you discuss this with us. There is a lot of wildlife around the House of Round. If your dog is likely to chase animals they will not be suitable for a stay here I'm afraid.

Can I get a lift to the accommodation as I can't walk easily?

You are required to make the 5 minute beautiful walk through woodland to reach House of Round yourself. This location is not suitable for those with mobility issues.

Will you carry our luggage?

Let us know when you are due to arrive and we will carry your luggage to the property by vehicle.

I have a sports car. Is it suitable to reach the property with this?

If you have a low vehicle, please note that the entrance road is bumpy and may not be suitable for your vehicle. Before arrival arrange to park in another spot before reaching the house and be collected from there.
