“I started QuirkyAccom.com in 2011 to ensure you don't have to stay in an ordinary hotel again! We make it simple for you to search (use the icons), price and book unusual places to stay in the UK, directly with the owner. In doing so you are helping others as we give our profits to charities. There are no hidden costs or service fees added.” Jess CEO & Founder of QuirkyAccom.com
"What is it about water that instantly seems to calm us, be it a seaside stroll, watching a babbling stream, the flow of a waterfall or the stillness of a lake?
According to scientists, seeing or hearing water triggers a response in our brain that floods our body with some feel good chemicals which help relax us!
Sounds like a great excuse for booking an accommodation by water to me!
In the UK there are so many options when it comes to a stay by water, be it a waterfront lodge with hot tub, a lake side holiday in the stunning Lake District or by a Scottish loch or even a stay on a boat!
Imagine yourself opening up the doors of your lake house or beach house with your favourite hot drink in hand, taking in the sights around you, maybe watching the sun rise or dipping your toes into the waves.
If you prefer to get in the water then there are a large range of watersports available throughout the UK from water skiing, to wake boarding, kneeboarding, kayaking and canooeing, all of which will help you to reconnect with the benefits of water.
Or if you are brave enough, then enjoy a spot of wild swimming at one of our may lakeside properties.
Here at QuirkyAccom we offer a range of unique waterside getaways.
Be it along the southern Jurassic Coastline, by the lakes in the Cotswolds, along the broads in Norfolk, along the stunning Welsh Coastline or even by Loch Ness!
Whether you are looking for a cabin with hot tub, a lake side treehouse, a houseboat stay or even a chance to go lake fishing, we have some accommodation for you where you can reconnect with your loved ones and the power of water!"
What do our customers think about a break by water?
"Shepherds huts were equipped with everything we needed with some lovely treats too. Took plenty of reading material but found myself just watching the wildlife congregating round the waters edge. Very therapeutic.
We stayed in Elen, whilst it was the smallest hut on site, it had the advantage of a small verandah so we were nice and dry even when it started raining. Wood burner kept the hut warm and cozy. Perfect!"
